Association for Building-Historical Research

Building-historical research strives for the recognition and interpretation of historical buildings as tangible sources of history and works of technical and artistic skill. The outputs of such research activities find other uses in basic research in historical disciplines, as well as in conservation, pre-design and design practices concerning the restoration of heritage sites, and the regeneration of historic urban structures.

Center for Architecture and Metropolitan Planning (CAMP)

Interested in the future of Prague, CAMP wants to improve public discourse concerning our city’s development. CAMP is an essential source of transparent and accessible information about the capital. It aims to function as an open platform: a “base camp” for anyone interested in the collective planning and functioning of Prague. CAMP houses an exhibition hall with a unique, 25-metre projection screen, a study area with a wide selection of publications about architecture, urban planning, and design, a cafe with an outdoor terrace, and a lecture hall with a rich program composed of public discussions, appearances by domestic and foreign experts, workshops, film screenings, art workshops for children, and other activities. CAMP runs the map application Praha zítra? (Prague Tomorrow?), which offers an overview of intended construction in Prague – from the first ideas, to projects in the phase of preparation, to those already completed. CAMP is part of the Prague Institute of Planning and Development (IPR Prague).
