APA

The Audiovisual Producers’ Association (APA) was founded in 1994 and brings together producers and production companies from Czech live-action, documentary and animated film, as well as film services, advertising and television. The primary aim of the Association’s activities is to protect and advance the interests of independent producers, and engage with professional unions, collective rights‑management organisations, and public‑administration bodies. The collective initiative of the APA’s members steers the organisation towards its most effective operation, as demonstrated by the fact that it has functioned as the main initiator and facilitator across film disciplines at critical junctures (i.e., negotiations concerning the Audiovisual Act). In its quarter-century of existence, the APA has become a firm part of the Czech audiovisual landscape and demonstrated a strong commitment. Accordingly, in the future, we wish to embed stability and development, strengthen international competitiveness, and maintain free and independent audiovisual creation.
